Solid Carbide 2 Flute Up-Cut Ball Nose Spiral Router Bit with a .187 (3/16) cutting tip and a 3/4″ cut length.
Used for milling rounded slots, slopes and machining 2D/3D dimensional contours with a smooth finish. Great for milling into all types of material including, wood, plastic, metal etc.
These tools are coated with a proprietary high performance *Astra coating* that allows higher speed & feed rates as well as extended tool life & increased lubricity in abrasive material.
What is a Ball Nose End Mill?
Ball nose end mills, also known as full radius end mills or ball mills, are cutting tools where the nose radius is equal to half of the diameter of the tool. This creates a constant single radius (or ball) at the tool end with no straight edge (sharp corners) in the profile. They are used for contour milling, shallow slotting, pocketing and contouring applications. Ball nose mills are ideal for 3D contouring because they are less prone to chipping and leave a nice rounded edge.
Tip: Use a Roughing end mill first to remove large areas of material then proceed with a ball nose end mill.

I have been using 3/16 bits for a long time. Especially when I am doing a perimeter cut out. Why waste the extra material.
Then I found Bits &Bits not only are less money but their “Astra Coated” bits run as smooth and last as long as other bits that cost much more.

About a month of use now and I am so impressed with this 3/16 bn bit! Cut approx 15 2.5D & 3D projects with this bit and it cuts through Russian Birch like a hot knife through butter!
