Whiteside 6220 Spoilboard Surfacing Router Bit with 2″ cut width for wood and aluminum. This 1/2″ shank bit clears the surface of your Spoilboard, creating a base surface that is perpendicular to the router motor. Once you add your planed project material, you are ensured an accurate cut.
This surfacing bit can also be used to flatten live edge boards that may be too large to go through your planer. 4 wings make a fast, clean cut on your project material.
Use on most CNC router tables that accept a 1/2″ shank, or on larger handheld routers. Works great with slab flattening jigs!

Came in good sealed package and bit was plastic sealed with oil inside it. Used in a Ridgid plung router to flatten a few slabs of walnut and worked like a charm. Ran it only at 13k rpm and it cut like butter, did not try higher than that because how well it was working. Each pass was between 1/8-1/4” deep and would cut about 3/4 of the bit so I could over lap my passes. Would recommend to anyone that is trying to flatten hard woods in a router jig or cnc. Keep the quality coming Bitsbits.

Used this bit to surface slab for a friend. As always products from Bits & Bits are top notch.

This bit chewed through anything I could toss at it-just recently used to cut the depth for a c-channel inlay on a dining table and worked like a charm!

This is my second Whiteside bit, I also have the 1/2″ x 1″ cut as well – very good quality even on end grain.

I use it to flatten cutting boards and chess boards after glue Ups because my planer is 30 years old and leaves a lot of snipe. Because the bit is so big, it shortens the time more than half.

The bit is extremely sharp and well balanced. It worked wonderfully. My one complaint would be the lack of a box. Such a sharp tool needs a storage container to protect both the edges and my fingers!

Used only once on some mesquite and performed perfectly – better than anticipated.
