Diamond engraving tools have been used in the engraving industry for years. They are designed to scratch the surface of the part being engraved. They have a phono point similar to the point on a pencil.

This type of engraving is the easiest way to mark a metal label or part. When engraving soft material such as gold or silver, use the 140°; for brass and aluminum use the 120°; and for stainless steel use the 130°.
